I am trying to think of ways to save money and so I have been looking at trying some different types of aviation oil. I normally buy branded products and tend to go for aeroshell as I believe that it works best for me but with the massive increase in fuel prices and the fact that my money is running out, I need to find a cheaper option if I want to keep up with my flying. I obviously do not want to compromise on quality and I understand that I need to find good value for money. I have therefore decided to try some different types of turbine oil and take a note of how long each lasts and how much it costs. I should be able to calculate which one gives me the most mileage and therefore work out which one will be the best one for me to buy. I am quite looking forward to the experiment and am hoping that it might save me quite a big chunk of money if I am lucky. I am hoping it will mean that I can fly more often as at the moment I am struggling to fly very much because I cannot raise the money for the fuel.
